Hi,

I've got several questions on BIOS:
1 Which BIOS does Educake use?
2 Which BIOS does sysImage supply?
3 The SysImage User Guide (http://www.86duino.com/index.p.....p=3245#ch2) says:
"*** Note: Upon a failed BIOS update which corrupted the internal BIOS, the 86Duino board will no longer function and need to be sent back to the factory for repair."
Is it possible to repair in home conditions? What would I need in order to do that? (I haven't broken mine, just qurious...)
4 Can you explain in detail (registers, memory addresses) the booting process?

Thanks a lot in advance!

HI,
86Duino BIOS is base on coreboot BIOS. It also is a open-source BIOS, you can refer it in this web:
http://www.coreboot.org/Downlo…..d_coreboot Kiss
and if u want to repair the BIOS in home, you need JTAG.

hope to help you

coreboot requires payload. Which payload do you use?

Hi,

The payload is "SeaBIOS" for 86Duino.Smile

Actually, I'd like to try updating BIOS myself. And want to do this using JTAG (not SysImage). Could anyone send a link to right jtag cable I am gonna need for this?

I recommend not to use JTAG to update BIOS. The JTAG is a tool for detecting and testing hardware.
It is used to testing Ex: Power, CPU Reset, PCI device, Timer, LAN, IDE devices, COM ports, GPIO, etc functions for the hardware.
Additionally, it also has some compatible problems between 86Duino JTAG and general JTAG.
I still recommend to do it by using SysImage.
