A open source, 3D-printable hexapod robot, called 86Hexapod, is released to demonstrate the application of the Servo86 library and robot motion editor (86ME) of 86Duino:

This hexapod robot has 12 DOF and employs the low-cost TowerPro SG90 servos as its actuators. You can edit its motions and automatically generate its programs with 86ME.

Excellent! I am currently working on a hexapod robot myself powered by the 86duino. Will there be an already created version of the 3D printed parts for sale for those who do not own 3D printers as well (3D printers are very, very expensive after all).

We currently have no plan to commercialize this hexapod robot. It is licensed under the CC-BY-SA, and so everyone is welcome to make (and/or sell) the robot. :)

If having no 3d printer, some 3d-printing service providers (such as http://3dprinting.com/3d-print.....g-service/) may be considered for making 3d-printed parts.

Thanks for sharing this information here. I am new in the Robotics field and want to develop more in this field.
I am also working on some small robots and want to know more about your hexapod.
Can you please tell me about your MCU and other hardware?
What are components of hardware and from where i can get them?

The 86Hexapod robot uses 86Duino Zero or 86Duino One (http://www.86duino.com/?page_id=11) as its controller. Mechanical components can be 3D printed using any 3D printer. There is a comprehensive PowerPoint slide (but in Chinese) for teaching the assembly of this robot:

(BTW, a coming free 86Hexapod course in Taiwan: https://www.facebook.com/events/400838086777725/)
